Traveling Accordion Exhibition

The unique traveling accordion exhibition is making a stop at the EAST SIDE MALL. Especially during Berlin’s fall break, the diverse program—featuring concerts, workshops, and family-friendly activities—invites visitors to rediscover music and explore the fascinating world of the accordion.
For decades, a cultural and historical treasure was stored in three apartments in Berlin’s historic buildings: more than 600 accordions, collected by Berlin music educator Dieter Plinke. Each instrument tells a story and carries memories of countries, generations, and Berlin neighborhoods. The Berlin State Music Council is making this unique collection accessible to all Berliners through the project “600 Accordions. Your Stories. Our Berlin” during the Year of the Accordion.
